Kim Min-kyu (Korean: 김민규; born December 25, 1994[1]) is a South Korean actor, also known as Kim Min-gue.[2]

He gained recognition for his appearance in the variety program "Crime Scene Season 3" and has since starred in various television series, including "Queen: Love and War" (2019-20), "Backstreet Rookie" (2020), "Snowdrop" (2021-22), and "Business Proposal" (2022). 


Kim is represented by Companion Company and has also worked as a model, appearing in magazines and advertisements. He is regarded as a rising star in the South Korean entertainment industry and has been praised for his acting skills. 

 

Career

 

Kim Min-kyu, a South Korean actor, began his acting career in 2013 with a minor role in the Mnet drama Monstar. He went on to have notable roles in various television series including Signal (2016), Because This Is My First Life (2017), The Rich Son (2018), and Perfume (2019). He also appeared as a detective's assistant in the variety program Crime Scene season 3. 


Kim gained recognition for his first leading role in the historical drama Queen: Love and War (2019-20), where he played Lee Kyung, the King of Joseon. He continued to impress audiences with his portrayal of Kang Ji-Wook in the 2020 SBS drama Backstreet Rookie. 

In 2021, Kim appeared in So I Married the Anti-fan, which premiered in April on Naver TV.


Later in the same year, he played Joo Gyeok-chan, a cold-hearted North Korean agent, in the JTBC drama Snowdrop. In 2022, Kim starred in the SBS romantic comedy-drama Business Proposal as chief secretary Cha Sung-hoon. He also held an exhibition titled "My Art, Your Art" with graffiti artist M.Chat from June 10 to June 26, 2022. 


In February 2023, Kim signed with Companion Company, and he will star in the tvN drama The Heavenly Idol in the title role as a K-pop idol possessed by a priest from another dimension in the same year. 

Personal life


In November 2022, it was announced that Kim will be enlisting in the military prior to the release of his upcoming television series in the first half of 2023.
