Chinese Film Festival Brings Cultural Exchange to Romania

The celebration of the Happy Chinese New Year in Romania has been marked by the opening of the "Chinese Film Days" event, which marks the first time that Chinese films will be commercially distributed and screened in Romanian cinemas. The Chinese ambassador to Romania, Han Chunlin, spoke at the opening ceremony and emphasized the significance of the event, stating that it represents a new chapter in cultural exchanges and cooperation between Romania and China.

Romanian film critic Irina Margareta Nistor expressed her support for the screening of Chinese films in Romania and expressed her hope that Romanian audiences would have the opportunity to gain a better understanding of modern and contemporary China through the films being shown. The opening ceremony was attended by 80 guests, including local officials, members of Romanian cultural and friendship organizations, and overseas Chinese residing in Romania. During the ceremony, the documentary film "The Magical Craftsmanship of Suzhou" was screened, showcasing the unique charm and rich heritage of Chinese traditional culture.

The Chinese Film Days event, which is being hosted by Happy Cinema and Cinema City in partnership with China Lion Film Distribution, will be held in six major Romanian cities over the next week. During this time, Romanian audiences will be able to enjoy six different Chinese films, including "Railway Heroes," "Almost Love," and "The Captain."
